Carrie Burgoon: Chiaroscuro Blog

1. At first I notice my shoes because they are darker and they are closer in the image. Next my eyes follows the variations of value in the rug. It makes me feel relaxed because the image isn't stressful to the eyes.
2. This is a black and white picture of a pair of black converse shoes in the middle, front and in the background is a rug which the shoes are resting on, with different colored stripes. You can see the end of my pant legs which lets you know that they are being worn.
3. The focal point is the shoes of course. Your eyes goes down the legs and onto the rug and back down to the shoes because the change in value on the rug. There isn't much color since it is black and white but the shades of gray show the different colors.
4. This picture doesn't really have a story but it can be simply named as Rest because it is a very relaxing image.
5. My image isn't much like Albrecht Durer's paintings but in some of them he has simple objects with a simple background. That is how my photo is. I have a simple rug in the background and a simple pair of converse shoes.
